One of the ̽»¨Ö±²¥â€™s leading student theatre companies will perform preview performances of the Shakespearean comedy ‘Two Gentlemen of Verona’ in the surroundings of Sidney Sussex College over this August Bank Holiday weekend before they embark on a 3,500 mile trip across the Atlantic.
̽»¨Ö±²¥third prize winner in our series, Laura Adde, 17, emerges top of the class for her delightful diary of the Sutton Trust Summer School. Laura goes to Sussex Downs College in Eastbourne, East Sussex, and is interested in studying physics.
Four students flew out to India in July as the first Cambridge participants in an international student internship programme launched last January by India's largest business conglomerate.
James Finley was one of 200 sixth-formers to attend a Sutton Trust Summer School at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge this summer. He attended the Engineering Summer School based at the Department of Engineering and stayed at Sidney Sussex College. James lives in Glossop, Derbyshire, and goes to Glossopdale Community College. He is planning to apply to Cambridge to study engineering this autumn.
It is Thursday lunchtime in the main dining hall of the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Centre. At a long table, Richard Davoren, James Finley and Ali Torabi are tucking into lunch with the concentration that comes from having spent the previous four hours designing and making robots.
Forty teachers from around the country gave up the first week of their summer holidays to come to Cambridge to take advantage of a national programme designed to enrich and enhance their enjoyment and understanding of science.
