At the age of thirteen Mona Jebril found herself stranded in Gaza, becoming a refugee for the second time in her life. Her talent and determination brought her to Cambridge where she became the first Gates Cambridge Scholar from the Gaza Strip. She completed her PhD in education in 2017. Today she is using the arts to give a voice to those in areas of conflict.

Funding announced for almost 400 new doctoral places in arts and humanities

̽»¨Ö±²¥Open ̽»¨Ö±²¥, the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Oxford and the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge are pleased to announce the success of their bid for funding for the Open-Oxford-Cambridge Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership, which will create nearly 400 new doctoral places in the arts and humanities.
