Walkers of all abilities are being urged to help raise tens of thousands of pounds for charity by taking part in an annual ramble through some of Cambridge鈥檚 most spectacular Colleges.

Bridge 探花直播Gap, now in its fifth year, is a sponsored Sunday stroll with a difference, raising more than 拢40,000 for good causes. This year鈥檚 event will be held on September 10.

Nearly 500 people have already signed up to take part, but organisers are asking for even more to join them as they try to top last year鈥檚 record 2,500 participants.

As well as giving people the chance to do their bit for several local charities, the walk is also an opportunity to see inside some of Cambridge鈥檚 most beautiful colleges.

People of any age or ability can take part and the route is wheelchair and push-chair friendly, so it really is open to all. It is also a non-competitive event, so participants are welcome to stop off at a caf茅, pub or restaurant en route!

探花直播walk is run by a partnership of organisations, comprising the 探花直播 of Cambridge, Cambridge 探花直播 Press and the Cambridge Evening News, as well as various sponsors. 探花直播money raised will be divided between three charities: Press Relief, 探花直播Arthur Rank Hospice and the Papworth Trust.

Penny Wilson, Head of Community Affairs for the 探花直播 of Cambridge, said: 鈥淐ome along on Sunday September 10th and join us on this beautiful walk. Many local people have always fancied having a look around the College grounds and this is the perfect opportunity. You鈥檒l get to see some lovely sights, take a spot of gentle exercise, have a fun time with family or friends and raise money for local causes鈥.

探花直播event will start and finish in the picturesque setting of Jesus Green, beside the River Cam. In between, walkers will be able to take in the sights of eight different Colleges, as well as the grounds of the 探花直播 Library and Zoology Museum. 探花直播walk costs 拢5 for anyone who registers in advance, or 拢10 for those registering on the day. Children can take part for free and participants are encouraged to walk in fancy dress.
