探花直播 探花直播 is welcoming Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh today.

In her first visit to the 探花直播 since the opening of the Faculty of Divinity in 2000, the Queen will be opening the Faculty of English鈥檚 new building on West Road and the Centre of Mathematical Sciences on Clarkson Road, and touring the Isaac Newton Institute and the Fitzwilliam Museum. She will be meeting staff and students at Queens' College during lunch and attending the celebrations at Christ鈥檚 College to mark their quincentenary (1505-2005).

探花直播Duke of Edinburgh, in his role as Chancellor of the 探花直播, will take time out to visit the Faculty of Classics and the Disability Resource Centre. At Classics, the Duke will present the first 鈥楥hancellor鈥檚 medal for Classical Learning鈥 before meeting students and donors.

After visiting the 探花直播鈥檚 鈥榡ewel in the crown鈥, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will emerge onto Trumpington Street for a ten-minute 鈥榳alkabout鈥. 探花直播public will have the opportunity to see the royal couple up close as they take the time to meet the citizens of Cambridge.

Dr Timothy Mead, Registrary of the 探花直播 of Cambridge, said: 鈥淭his will be the Queen鈥檚 first visit to the 探花直播 since 2000. We are looking forward to showing her the outstanding developments that have taken place over the intervening five years.鈥

Anyone wishing to be at the walkabout should be outside the Fitzwilliam Museum on Trumpington Street at 3pm.
