An Act of Remembrance for the Tsunami disaster takes place at the 探花直播 of Cambridge this weekend.

探花直播 探花直播-wide, inter-faith commemoration will be held at the 探花直播 Church, Great St Mary's, on Sunday 13 February 2005 at 3pm. All members of the university and of the general public are welcome to attend.

Professor Alison Richard, the Vice-Chancellor, and Tim Winter (Faculty of Divinity and Muslim Chaplaincy) will both be speaking and Christian, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim members of the 探花直播 will read from the sacred texts of their faith traditions.

There will also be an opportunity to contribute to a collection on behalf of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). A recent "Come and Sing" event at Great St Mary's on January 16th raised more than 拢10,000 for the DEC, and CDs of that event will be on sale after the Act of Remembrance.

"This is an occasion for members of the 探花直播 who have been moved by this terrible disaster, of any faith or none, to come together, listen to one another, and share in silence. We offer remembrance for the victims, comfort for the mourners, help for the survivors and hope for the future."

探花直播last event of a similar character at Great St Mary's was in September 2001, following 9/11, at which Christians, Jews and Muslims took part. Sunday's event appropriately falls within the 探花直播's observation of One World Week.
