̽��ֱ��College Warden, Professor David Yates, performed a topping out ceremony to acknowledge the completion of the highest point of the new buildings by laying the final roof tile.

Work on building the two new, three-storey buildings is progressing well. Designed to blend seamlessly into the existing built environment, the accommodation will house 48 individual study bedrooms with en-suite facilities, as well as a communal kitchen and dining facilities across each of the floors.

In addition to their tiled roofs, both buildings feature brick and render finishes to their façades. An environmentally friendly bike shed, with a green sedum roof, provides secure parking and a rainwater storage tank will provide irrigation for a new garden area.

Phillip Allerton, director of main contractor ISG Jackson's Living division, commented: "Reaching the highest point of every development is a key moment in the build programme and provides a tangible indicator of the project’s progress. We attribute much of the success of our schemes to building close and collaborative relationships with our clients and continue to work effectively with Robinson College towards a successful handover.”

̽��ֱ��project is right on schedule to complete by July 2008.

College Director of Development Helen Cornish said: "Construction of this important new facility for the College’s graduate community has been able to proceed thanks to philanthropic support from a range of donors, including members of Robinson College, the Wolfson Foundation and Trinity College. All members of Robinson are tremendously grateful to these supporters for enabling the project to proceed."

Robinson is the newest college in the ̽��ֱ�� of Cambridge. It was founded with a donation by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir David Robinson and formally opened in 1981. It now has 80 Fellows, and around 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.

̽��ֱ��red-brick main block houses the majority of the undergraduates, library, chapel and our excellent dining and conferencing facilities. In addition there are a number of older houses dating back to the 1890's, converted for college use and new accommodation blocks. ̽��ֱ��whole site centres around the large tranquil garden and lake.
