An undergraduate in the Chemical Engineering Department at the 探花直播 of Cambridge has carried out vital research in the Arctic thanks to an Engineering Leadership Award (ELA) from the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Patrick Davies of Gonville and Caius College was one of 20 students to be awarded a grant of 拢4500 in total over three years to fund engineering-related travel and training.

鈥淲e travelled to the Arctic on a six-week-long research expedition studying the ice sheets. We took measurements on the remote glaciers there, and we were able to climb a number of unnamed ice-covered peaks鈥, he explained.
