探花直播official biographer of Sir Winston Churchill is to give a talk on Monday 26 November at Churchill College, Cambridge.

探花直播public lecture by Sir Martin Gilbert is called "Misrepresenting Churchill: 探花直播Archival Antidote".

Widely regarded as the leading authority on Churchill, Gilbert has read every document available on the subject, believed to be in the region of 15 tonnes of paperwork.

探花直播vast majority of these documents are stored within the College in the Churchill Archives Centre, which houses over 570 collections of personal papers and archives documenting the history of the Churchill era and after.

Gilbert worked as a research assistant to Winston Churchill's son, Randolph S. Churchill, from 1962-67 on the first volumes of the Official Biography. After Randolph's death he became the official biographer of Sir Winston's life in 1968.

A leading historian of the modern world, Gilbert has written six of the eight volumes on Churchill's life and has edited 11 volumes of the former Prime Minister's documents.

He has also written extensively on European history as well as producing several history atlases.
