Secondary school and sixth form students from across Eastern England and beyond are invited to the first ever Cambridge Science Festival Schools Zone. On Saturday 20 March, they will present their science, technology, engineering and maths projects to the public.

Visitors will be able to find out about what is happening in school science when teams of up to eight students introduce various topics with posters and interactive displays. These projects have been produced as part of their curriculum or in after-school clubs.

Many students have been busy perfecting their displays and adding interactive games and quizzes for Festival visitors. They will also be on hand to answer questions about their projects.

Sue Long, Festivals and Outreach Officer for the 探花直播 of Cambridge said: 鈥淲e wanted to give school pupils the chance to be the science experts and communicators for the day. These young people will be our future scientists, engineers and astronomers.鈥

探花直播Cambridge Science Festival has been running for over 15 years and the Schools Zone initiative is an exciting new event for 2010. 探花直播UK鈥檚 largest free science festival takes place between 8 and 21 March, with many different events running daily. 探花直播Schools Zone will be taking place on 20 March, which is the second 鈥楽cience on Saturday鈥 of the festival, along with many other fun activities for the whole family.

Visitors are invited to drop into the Schools Zone between 10am and 4pm in the 探花直播 Centre in Cambridge. All ages are welcome.
