Two Cambridge academics have been recognised in the Queen鈥檚 New Year Honours list.

Professor Peter Nolan, Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management at the Judge Business School, is made a CBE for 鈥榮ervices to supporting British business in China and China鈥檚 integration into the global economy鈥.

Commenting on the CBE, he said: 鈥淚 am very gratified, especially by the terms of the citation, which are very meaningful to me.鈥

Professor Marcial Echenique, Head of the Department of Architecture and Professor of Land Use and Transport Studies, is made an OBE for 鈥榮ervices to Urban and Regional Planning鈥

His research explores how major cities can be planned to be socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable and economically efficient. He has helped to shape recent building developments in Cambridge, such as Clay Farm and the Marshall Aerospace site at Cambridge Airport.
