Research Services Division (RSD) is hosting a seminar entitled 'Neuroscience & Society' as part of its Horizon series which profiles research at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥. ̽»¨Ö±²¥conference is scheduled for next Thursday, 12 October 2006.

̽»¨Ö±²¥â€˜Neuroscience’ Horizon conference will showcase a wide range of the cutting-edge neuroscience research at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥. World-leading scientists and opinion leaders will detail the latest areas of research as well as the future trends in neuroscience research.

̽»¨Ö±²¥seminar, which will take place at New Hall, promises to be invaluable for companies interested in neuroscience.

Leading scientists from the ̽»¨Ö±²¥, including Professor Alastair Compston, Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Professor Trevor Robbins, Department of Experimental Psychology and Professor Bill Harris, Department of Physiology, will outline their research and their visions for the future.

̽»¨Ö±²¥event will also feature prominent external speakers including Professor Sir David King, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, and Dr Peter Stern, European Editor of 'Science'.

Four key themes will be explored during the seminar: Basic Neuroscience, Translational Neuroscience, Clinical Neuroscience and the Public Understanding of Neuroscience.
