̽»¨Ö±²¥special, transformative qualities of gardens are brought into focus with an interdisciplinary conference at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge Botanic Garden next month.
̽»¨Ö±²¥one-day event on Friday, 8 July, entitled ‘Moving Gardens’, is a collaboration between the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) and the Botanic Garden, and is the third in a series which has included conferences in California and Sydney.
̽»¨Ö±²¥conference, which is intended for both scholars and gardeners, includes tours of both the Botanic Garden and the Clare College Gardens. There will also be special talks and a witness seminar led by Prof John Parker (Director, ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge Botanic Garden), Prof David Ingram (Regius Keeper, Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh 1990-1998 and Master of St Catharine's College, Cambridge) and Dr Andrew Sclater (Co-founder, National Botanic Garden of Wales).
̽»¨Ö±²¥event, which begins at the Botanic Garden, will include a special selection of poetry readings by Prof Gillian Beer.
