His Excellency Mr Chun Yung-woo, Ambassador to the Republic of Korea is giving a talk at Clare Hall today at 6pm, under the title 探花直播Six Party Talks and Inter-Korean Relations.

Mr Yung-woo represented South Korea during 1st to 5th stages of the Six Party Talks aimed at ending North-Korea鈥檚 Nuclear Weapons Program. Little progress was made during the early discussions, but during phase three of the fifth stage a breakthrough was made.

Mr Yung-woo will be talking about his experiences during the talks and about the state of relations between North and South Korea.

Clare Hall has had a strong relation with the Embassy of Korea for several years and the former President of South Korea and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kim Dae-jung is an Honorary Fellow.

Clare Hall has hosted a number of Korean events in the past including a Korean Festival in 2006 which featured lectures, dance, music and art.
