There will be a 30-minute programme on the current exhibition, 探花直播Cambridge Illuminations, on BBC 4 on Sunday October 30 at 19.35. 探花直播'Arts Report' title is 'Illuminations - Treasures of the Middle Ages'.
Cambridge is among the world鈥檚 richest treasuries of medieval illuminated manuscripts and 探花直播Cambridge Illuminations displays over 200 treasures, many never before on public view.
探花直播programme is presented by Andrew Graham-Dixon, and Germaine Greer and Quentin Blake among others will examine a host of medieval masterpieces and debate their political, cultural and religious legacies.
探花直播exhibition includes numerous books of hours, Bibles, encyclopaedias, scientific, mathematical, historical and geographical treatises. An entire gallery is devoted to leaves from the renowned Macclesfield Psalter, recently saved for the nation. Visitors can enjoy the richness of its illustrations while it is disbound for conservation.
探花直播Cambridge Illuminations continues at the Fitzwilliam Museum and the 探花直播 Library until December 30. Admission to the exhibition is free and opening times are: 10.00-17.00 Tuesday - Saturday, and 12.00-17.00 on Sundays & Bank Holidays at the Fitzwilliam Museum; and 09.00-18.00 Monday - Friday and 09.00-16.30 on Saturdays at the 探花直播 Library.
