A fundraiser in aid of ̽»¨Ö±²¥Prostate Cancer Charity is to be held at King's College Great Hall on Saturday, 10 March. ̽»¨Ö±²¥dinner, hosted by the Hawks' Club, will feature the entertaining Sandy Strang as speaker.

Tickets for this event are £30 for students (£8 of each ticket goes to the charity) and £40 for non students (£18 of each ticket goes to the charity). Tickets can be collected from the Hawks' Club, 18 Portugal Place, or by e-mailing ajmugan@btinternet.com.

̽»¨Ö±²¥pre-dinner reception begins at 7.15pm (for 7.30pm) followed by a 3 course dinner and wine. This is a black tie/ blazers event.

̽»¨Ö±²¥Prostate Cancer Charity was established in 1996 and is the largest charity focused specifically on prostate caner. They have invested nearly £5 million in medical research and have supported thousands of men and their families. Prostate Cancer Awareness Week runs from March 19-25 and aims to raise the profile of prostate cancer in the public and the media.

̽»¨Ö±²¥Hawks' Club, for men Blues, was founded in 1872 by members of the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge. It was created to bring together sporting excellence from across many different fields of sport, and continues to provide a fellowship for the ̽»¨Ö±²¥'s Olympians, International and Varsity representatives.

Sandy Strang is a popular and entertaining after dinner speaker who attended Churchill College from 1969-1972. He won a blue playing for the university football team at the 1970 Varsity match at Wembley. As a journalist he has written columns for ̽»¨Ö±²¥Herald, ̽»¨Ö±²¥Sun and Scotland on Sunday.
