探花直播鈥欌楩irst Lady of Football', Karren Brady, is to speak at the 探花直播 this evening at the return of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning's 鈥欌楨nterprise Tuesday' events.
探花直播Managing Director of Birmingham City will talk about her experiences of turning an opportunity into a business, at the event held at the Department of Engineering.
Brady revolutionised the world of football after being appointed the youngest ever MD of a PLC and the first woman to ever hold the position at a football club.
Over 15 years she has transformed Birmingham City from a struggling local business in to a successful company and an internationally recognised team.
When she arrived in 1993 the company was in liquidation and the team were in the First Division attracting just 6,000 fans to matches.
Using innovative marketing techniques the club was able to encourage a new range of supporters to attend matches. Brady developed several community projects including the introduction of a family stand and pioneered the 鈥楰ids a quid' campaign.
Now well established in the Premier League the club attracts match day attendances of close to 25,000 and offer services as diverse as mortgages, savings accounts and training.
Dr Shai Vyakarnam, director of CfEL, said: 鈥淲e're really looking forward to having someone of Karren's calibre to speak at Enterprise Tuesday. She will share invaluable management lessons and promote opportunities in the region.鈥
