Links between researchers and the electricity industry have been given a boost this week with the appointment of Dr Wendy Kneissl as Electricity Policy Forum (EPF) Director.

探花直播EPF works to facilitate communication between the electricity industry, its regulators, policy-makers and academics across a number of disciplines.

It also showcases the world class research being undertaken by members of the 探花直播鈥檚 Electricity Policy Research Group (EPRG).

Dr Kneissl will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate relationships between researchers and representatives from government and industry.

鈥淚 am committed to supporting the EPF and look forward to being instrumental in bringing corporate and institutional members together to further advance decision making in this sector,鈥 she said.

Until recently Dr Kneissl was Director of Science at Forum for the Future, a charity that works in partnership with businesses and the public sector to find practical ways of building a future that is both environmentally viable and economically prosperous.

探花直播EPRG is run jointly by the Judge Business School and the Faculty of Economics at the 探花直播 of Cambridge and encourages interdisciplinary research into the electricity supply.

Dr Michael Pollit, EPRG鈥檚 acting Executive Director and Reader in Business Economics at the Judge Business School, explains: 鈥 探花直播EPF has a critical role to play in the development of the EPRG by providing a forum for open and informed debate about the major policy issues facing the electricity sector in the UK and Europe.鈥
