CUR1350 won Gold for Best Station, for the first time in its 29 year history. Katherine Godfrey, a student at Churchill College, won the Gold for Best Female, and the station's Weekend Breakfast team took Bronze in the Best Entertainment category. ̽��ֱ��station also appeared nine times in the awards' shortlists, more than any other student radio station.

Part of the prize for their awards includes the opportunity for the team to appear on BBC Radio 1. As winners of the Best Station award, CUR1350 will be broadcasting a two-hour show on the station, and Katherine Godfrey will be presenting a separate, one hour slot as winner of Best Female.

Michael Brooks, the station manager, said: “This proves that CUR1350 is in the top tier of Student Radio in the UK; the professional outlook of the station in everything we do makes our broadcast worthy of commer¬cial and BBC standard radio.”

Greg James, the early morning presenter on BBC Radio 1, and winner of the Best Male category in 2006, said: “Best Station is the biggest award of the night and the opportunity it gives is incredible...it's a fantastic team award for a team contribution.”

̽��ֱ��awards were held on Thursday 15th November, and are organised by the Student Radio Association, a national body which supports the development of student radio. They are prestigious accolades in the radio community, and were judged by a panel of radio personalities, including DJs from BBC Radio 1. More than 300 nominations were received this year from student radio stations across the country.

̽��ֱ��radio station is run independently by students from the ̽��ֱ�� of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin ̽��ֱ��. It is aimed specifically at students of both universities, covering such events as Freshers' Fairs and the May Bumps, an inter-collegiate rowing event.
