̽��ֱ��money raised will go to the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, Cambridge Samaritans, and Press Relief, the Cambridge Evening News' community fund, supporting smaller local causes.

This was the fourth Bridge the Gap event organised by the ̽��ֱ�� of Cambridge, the Cambridge Evening News and Cambridge ̽��ֱ�� Press. ̽��ֱ��event enables people to see inside the grounds of many of the city's colleges, some of which are not normally open to the public.

̽��ֱ��four-and-a half-mile walk, which takes a different route each year, has regularly attracted more than 1,200 people, but this year has proved a huge success. Starting at Jesus Green, hundreds of walkers of all ages made their way through Downing, Clare, Gonville and Caius, Jesus, Sidney Sussex, Pembroke, Queens', and St Catharine's Colleges and the Botanic Garden.

“We are very pleased with the growing success of the walk,” said Penny Wilson, the ̽��ֱ��’s Community Relations Co-ordinator. “It is very easy for people who live in Cambridge to never see the beautiful grounds and gardens of the Colleges. Bridge the Gap is their opportunity to see beyond the front gates, get a bit of exercise and contribute to local charities.”
