Award-winning musicians, the Doric String Quartet have been announced as residents of the 2009/10 Chamber Concert Series at Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge.
̽»¨Ö±²¥quartet will open the series on Thursday 22nd October.
̽»¨Ö±²¥group of musicians, who won first prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan in 2008, are recognised by music critics as an outstanding musical quartet.
Now in their 11th season, they perform at many major music festivals throughout the UK and abroad.
Their first performance at Kettle’s Yard, part of the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge, will include three pieces featuring Mozart’s String Quartet No.2 in D minor, K.421.
̽»¨Ö±²¥quartet will open the series and become residents for an entire year, performing every term. They will also perform Brahms’ Piano Quintet with Alasdair Beatson on 18 February 2010 and on 20 May 2010 quartets by Haydn, Britten and Schumann.

̽»¨Ö±²¥Thursday Evening Chamber Concert Series has played host to a variety of musical talent for nearly 40 years. This year’s programme will include distinguished Swiss pianist Andreas Haefliger amongst others.

Kettle’s Yard is a beautiful and unique house containing a distinctive collection of modern art.
Founded by H.S. 'Jim' Ede, Kettle’s Yard is a place where visitors can 'find a home and a welcome, a refuge of peace and order, of the visual arts and of music.’
In 1966 Ede gave the house and its contents to the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge. Concerts take place amongst the art works in the house.
