̽»¨Ö±²¥Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen J Toope, this month gave evidence to ̽»¨Ö±²¥Times Education Commission, which was set up in May 2021 to examine the future of education following the COVID-19 crisis, declining social mobility, advances in technology, and the changing nature of work.

Postgraduate students applying to undertake a doctoral degree at Cambridge will no longer have to pay a fee to submit their application to study at Cambridge. This will come into effect from the 2022/23 application cycle, for admissions in 2023/24. ̽»¨Ö±²¥ ̽»¨Ö±²¥ will also reduce the application fee for non-doctoral postgraduate study to £50.

̽»¨Ö±²¥ ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge, which has a long-established widening participation programme for undergraduate students, is now turning its attention to addressing inequalities that exist across the postgraduate higher education sector.

̽»¨Ö±²¥ ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge is pleased to report that all students who met the conditions of their offer this year have been accepted. There has been no need for any deferrals or for any student to switch College to help accommodate numbers.

̽»¨Ö±²¥number of UK black undergraduate students starting at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge this term has risen significantly from last year. A total of 91 black students have been admitted, up from 61 in the 2018/19 academic year…a rise of almost 50%. 

A YouTube influencer is fronting a series of films encouraging more black students to apply to Cambridge in the latest push by the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ to widen its pool of applicants.

̽»¨Ö±²¥ ̽»¨Ö±²¥â€™s new Student Services Centre is now open.  ̽»¨Ö±²¥facility – which brings together a number of support services and teams under one roof – is located at the New Museums Site in the heart of Cambridge.

This summer more than 500 teenagers from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds will have stayed at the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ of Cambridge to learn more about what it’s like to study at one of its 31 Colleges. They’ll come from all corners of the UK, keen to find ways of achieving their dream of becoming an undergraduate at one of the world’s leading academic institutions.
